Tony Millington R I P
A great entertainer and goalie.and superfit sportsman

A Welsh International, somewhat flamboyant entertaining style of football.
But also a very brave feller who when called upon did everything possible to keep his team s defence untouched by goals.
I saw him once eating a pie whilst his team mate took a penalty against the opposition.

RIP Tony ,you were a great entertainer.superb Goalie and a Top Bloke

I am coming to the conclusion that WHO needs a single, separate obituaries column instead of being overwhelmed with RIP threads. It's like the stereotypical old lady who checks to see who has died each day.

Maybe it could be called View from the Other Side.

Never heard of him, but I'm sure he's dead.

There's some old video of an England/Wales international with Millington in goal.
I think he would've preferred it if the BBC had wiped that particular tape as he didn't get anywhere near anything in a 5-1 thrashing.
Hurst got a hat-trick and I'm sure Bobby Charlton smacked one oast the hapless keeper from some distance.

Footballers who have helped a football match entertain us at Upton parks boleyn ground deserve our respect.

I don't complain about the politicians or stage and screen entertainers that get 100 plus posts on a football site do I

If we fail to show regard to footballers on westhamonline.
Its a RIP to what we stand for.

Oh yeah by the way .he is a member of a family of fine full international footballers and all are decent people.

Some on here could learn a lot from them and benefit mankind

How can mankind be benefitted by fine goalkeeping?

Monk, after yesterday's train crash of puns, perhaps better to stay off them for a bit?

Well, I suppose if no goals were ever conceded by any team, then no football fan would have to suffer the anguish of defeat.

I think FIFA and the UN need to create a combined position and immediately appoint Hugh to that role.
He is clearly on to something here.

If there were no goalkeepers then surely more goals would result each match rather than none.

That would seem a reasonable conclusion. Has anyone suggested such a change to the game, though?

Ronno

It was my interpretation of what you wrote.....

"Well, I suppose if no goals were ever conceded by any team, then no football fan would have to suffer the anguish of defeat."
